Claim To Fame: She is known for her roles in such films as The Crush and Clueless, and for appearing in three music videos for Aerosmith.

Family Life: She married her longtime boyfriend, rock musician Christopher Jarecki, in a beachfront ceremony at Lake Tahoe on June 11, 2005. In May 2011, gave birth to a boy, whom they named Bear Blu Jarecki.

Info: Silverstone began modeling at the age of six, and found her way into television commercials. Her first credited acting role was playing Fred Savage's "dream girl" in The Wonder Years episode entitled "Road Test."

In 1993, she won the leading part in the film The Crush, for which she won two awards at the 1994 MTV Movie Awards for the role?Best Breakthrough Performance and Best Villain.

After seeing her in this role, director Marty Callner chose Silverstone to appear in Aerosmith's music video for "Cryin." She was also cast in the videos for "Amazing" and "Crazy."

Filmmaker Amy Heckerling saw her in these videos and cast her in the 1995 hit Clueless. Silverstone went on to sign a deal with Columbia-TriStar valued between $8 and $10 million that got her a three-year first look deal for her own production company, First Kiss Productions.

Silverstone's next big role was that of Batgirl in 1997's Batman & Robin, although her performance was not well received. She won a Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actress. That same year, Excess Baggage, the first movie by her production company was released. She starred in the film with Benicio del Toro and Christopher Walken.

In 2010, she was awarded a Voice Of Compassion Award by the Physician's Committee For Responsible Medicine for "shining a spotlight on the powerful health benefits of a vegan diet.

Has two older siblings, a half-sister from her father's previous marriage named Kezi Silverstone and a brother named David Silverstone.

Attended Crocker Middle School and then San Mateo High School.

Became legally emancipated at the age of 15 in order to work the hours required for the shooting schedule of the film The Crush.

Where Are They Now: In early 2009, Silverstone starred in the world premiere of Donald Margulies's Time Stands Still at the Geffen Playhouse LA. She reprised this role in 2010 alongside Laura Linney in the New York production of the play on Broadway.

Silverstone later returned to Broadway in the 2012 New York production of The Performers and starred in Angels in Stardust, and Ass Backwards.

She starred in the teen romance The Art of Getting By, which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. She next appeared in Butter, playing the adoptive mother of a 12-year old African American girl who enters a local butter sculpture competition in a small Iowa town.

Silverstone was offered the role in Amy Heckerling's Vamps after Heckerling saw her in Time Stands Still.

The cookbook topped the Hardcover Advice & Misc. category of The New York Times Best Seller list. In 2012, she received criticism when she uploaded a video of herself feeding pre-chewed food to her son from her own mouth, a process called premastication. She released a statement that this has been going on for thousands of years and is perfectly natural.
