Claim To Fame: I think most people know Kate from her role as Sabrina, the smart angel, in the Aaron Spelling TV show, 'Charlie's Angels.'

But Kate was also in two other fairly popular TV shows, 'The Rookies' and 'Scarecrow & Mrs. King.'

Info: Kate studied at New York's Academy of Dramatic Arts while she earned a living selling skis, modeling, (she claims modeling is "the hardest work in the world"), and working as a tour guide at NBC.

She landed a role in the Soap Opera 'Dark Shadows', playing a ghost, and she recreated the same role in the feature film based on the series.

Shortly after that she moved to Hollywood where she became a popular TV actress.

Trivia: Had to turn down the Meryl Streep role in Kramer vs. Kramer because of scheduling conflicts with "Charlie's Angels". This eventually prompted the actress to leave the TV series.

With the help of friend Rosie O'Donnell, adopted a son, Charles Taylor.

Has survived two battles with breast cancer. Once in 1987, and again in 1989. After a partial mastectomy and radiation, she won her fight and shared her experience to highlight the importance of mammograms.

excellence from the UCLA drama department and two Humanitarian
Awards for her work with children and animals.

Was discovered by Paramount Production manager, Robert Evans for her 40s Hollywood looks.

In addition to being the first Angel to be cast in "Charlie's Angels", she was also responsible for coming up with the show's name.

In 1989, Hollywood insiders named Kate one of the least likable actresses in show business, while fellow angel Jaclyn Smith was elected as one of the nicest.

Was offered a cameo in the film version of Charlie's Angels. Negotiations fell through after she insisted on playing the villainous role that was eventually played by Kelly Lynch.

Where Is She Now: Kate has been showing up... well you've been hearing her... on various Animated shows. Just this year she has been the voice in an 'American Dad' episode along with 'Family Guy.'

Here's what Kate has to say... "I became a mom ten years ago and though I worked until he was about four, I found I couldn't be the kind of mom I wanted to be if I left for work before he woke up in the morning and got home after he was in bed. I love being a mom, and it's the most wonderful yet challenging job in the world. I had no idea I would become such a totally "hands on" mom, a "Room Mom" every year for his class, an Assistant Cub Scout Leader, the whole ball of wax. Maybe when the time seems right I'll do something again (if anybody still wants me to!).
