Claim to Fame:
The only thing that comes to mind when you hear the name Lauren Tewes is her
role on 'The Love Boat.' She played perky Cruise Director Julie McCoy.
Family Life: Bob Nadir (May 1996 - April 2002) (his death)
Paolo Noonis (1986 - ?) (divorced)
John Wassel (1977 - 1981) (divorced)
Info: She attended Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California,
then went on to study at the University of California at Riverside, California
where she won the 1st Annual Chancellor's Award for Excellence in the Theater.
She made her stage debut in "Arsenic and Old Lace" at the Pacific Conservatory
Theatre in California.
Before she got a break on TV she worked as a waitress in the infamous
Continental Hyatt House coffee shop on the Sunset Strip.
Trivia: Following Lauren's dismissal from '"The Love Boat" in 1984 for
cocaine addiction, she spiraled even further into drug abuse and her career
suffered.
Lauren also was the primary care-giver for her sick husband who died in 2002.
Loves to cook. Where
is She Now: After her much publicized addiction problems Lauren got sober. A
move to Seattle helped with this and she became a cheese steward following her
completion of culinary arts studies.
She did try to make a comeback in TV appearing in the short-lived series 'The
Fugitive' in 2000.
In 2001 she appeared in a celebrity edition of the game show 'The Weakest Link.'
She presently makes her living doing voice-overs and radio commercials.
She is very active in regional theater in Seattle.
