Review: When college girl Allison (Katrina Bowden) inadvertently gets knocked unconscious in a lake, best friends Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) come to her rescue. What was supposed to be a vacation for the two backwoods pals takes a bloody turn when Allison's ignorant friends mistake them for a pair of murderous hillbillies. In Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, beware of chainsaws and wood chippers as you embark on this hour and a half of gore and fun. This movie is a refreshing take on the cliché slasher movies. We've all seen them; there's a bad guy, and a group of idiots that die one by one. This movie does a great job of subverting this timeless formula in a way that is both surprising and hilarious. The unaware college kids end up being the aggressors here as their ignorance leads them down a path where one misunderstanding after another leads to a series of terrible misfortunes. This movie proves that not all horror flicks have to be scary and terrifying. This one is hilariously fun, and I couldn't recommend it enough. Don't judge a book by its cover. Unless you're looking at the cover of Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. In which case, observe the absurdity, embrace the goofiness, and watch this movie immediately!

Fun Fact: Towards the end of the movie, when Tucker and Dale are reminiscing about catching frogs at the creek. Dale mentions that he used to lick them. Tyler Labine actually did lick a toad in a small role he had on an episode of The X-Files: Quagmire (1996) 14 years prior.
