Review: Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) are the team behind the popular tabloid-TV show "Skylark Tonight." After learning that North Korea's Kim Jong Un (Randall Park) is a huge fan of the show, they successfully set up an interview with him, hoping to legitimize themselves as actual journalists. However, as Dave and Aaron prepare for their journey to Pyongyang, the CIA steps in, recruits them, and assigns them an incredible mission: Assassinate the dictator.

The Interview was one of the most controversial films of 2014, as its storyline consisted of assassinating a real, living world leader. Despite its subject matter, this film comes across as nothing but a silly bromantic love triangle. If you can set aside your reservations regarding the overarching plot, this movie is actually quite funny as Dave Skylark and Kim Jong Un go parading around North Korea in a tank while blasting Katy Perry songs. That last sentence should tell you all you need to know regarding the seriousness of this film. Not to mention there's another hilarious scene where Seth Rogen has a standoff with a tiger, or as James Franco calls it, a "dragon dog."

This movie is basically everything you would expect from a Rogen and Franco team-up. The comedy is vulgar, lewd, and slapstick in nature. At the end of the day it's a simple and stupid comedy brimming with cheap laughs. If you're a fan of Seth Rogen and James Franco's other works, then this film will be right up your alley.

Fun Fact: The line above the movie title translates to "Please do not believe these ignorant dishonorable Americans!"
