Info: Duffy began his acting career in 1976 when he landed the role of Mark Harris on the television series Man from Atlantis. He actually used his scuba diving expertise to master the fishlike swimming style he used while in character.

After the short-lived series was cancelled, Duffy shot to stardom in the role of Bobby James Ewing on the TV series, Dallas. He parted ways with the series in 1985, only to return the following year in a shower scene that rendered the entire 1985–1986 season "just a dream."

In 1991, Duffy took on the role as the head of the Lambert family on the sitcom, Step by Step, and also directed 49 episodes of the show. He also reunited with longtime best friend Larry Hagman in the Dallas reunion movies J.R. Returns and War of the Ewings, the latter of which he also co- produced, reprising the role of Robert "Bobby" Ewing.
