Claim To Fame: First made a name for himself acting on the soap opera "General Hospital" playing Dr. Noah Drake in 1981.

He then hit it big on the music charts and had a string of hits. It all started with "Jesse's Girl".

He tried motion pictures, but his debut, "Hard To Hold", was a huge flop (even though I liked it).

Info: Info: Sidelined for the late 1980's-early 1990's through a combination of severe depression, a bad accident in an ATV, and a decision to devote himself to his wife and two sons.

He won a Grammy Award for the song "Jessie's Girl" in 1982.

He was linked romantically with actress Linda Blair in the 1970's. There was quite an age difference at the time he was 25 and she was 15...

Arrested in Malibu for spousal assault and spent the night in jail but was released after he posted $50,000 bail. [September 2000]

Trivia: His wife Barbara Porter was the receptionist at the studio where he recorded "Working Class Dog."

He was added to the cast of the syndicated Aaron Spelling drama, Robin's Hoods, in a belated attempt to shore up ratings.

Throughout the 1970's he was mistaken for Bruce Springsteen because of their similar surnames and musical backgrounds.

Was star of cartoon "Mission Magic" in the early 1970's Had hit song "Speak to the Sky" years before Working Class Dog.

Was in the Australian rock band "Zoot" with Beeb Birtles, who later co-founded one of Australia's most successful rock bands, "The Little River Band."

Where Are They Now: Rick is out about the country touring. In fact he's got an active schedule through the rest of the year. He is touring to support his latest album, (released in February of this year) "Shock Denial Anger Acceptance".

If you listen to the adult contemporary charts you may have caught his single, "Beautiful You" which peaked at number 25.

He also says that he will hit the TV airwaves in 2005 with many guest-starring roles. No word yet what shows he will be on.
