Review: Aliens who look like clowns come from outer space and terrorize a small town. You have to love the '80s! This homage to sci-fi horror flicks of the '50s puts a very creative, inventive and unusual spin on the alien invasion movie. The "Klowns" are creepy, weird, and make you wonder "How did they do that?" with the makeup and special effects. The movie is filled with memorable sight gags and visuals that will impress and terrify you at the same time. It's definitely a movie that could have only been made in the '80s; and it still stands as one of the best cult classics of all-time! The Chiodo Brothers are special effects masters and here have made a movie that every child of the '80s remembers fondly...or they developed a deep fear of extraterrestrial clowns. I've got both going for me. It's definitely a "Gremlins" level of scary. Not for those with Coulrophobia.

Fun Fact: The $2 million budget went primarily on production costs. The clowns and visual effects were created almost entirely by the filmmakers at very little cost.
