Claim To Fame: Annie Potts is an American actress best known for her roles in Ghostbusters (1984), the CBS sitcom Designing Women (1986-93), and the Toy Story films.

Family Life: Potts married Steven Douglas Schwartz in 1973 and they divorced 1978. Her second marriage, to Greg Antonacci, only last a year, from 1978 to 1979. In 1981, Potts married B. Scott Senechal, together they had a son. They divorced in 1989. Then in 1990, Potts married James Hayman. They have two son and are still together today.

She received a bachelor in fine arts degree (in theater arts) from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.

In 1979, Potts was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for the comedy film Corvette Summer, co-starring Mark Hamill.

In 1982, she won Genie Awards for Best Performance by a Foreign Actress for her role in the film Heartaches.

She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1994 for role as Dana Palladino on Love & War (1993-1995).

She was also nominated for two Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for the Lifetime Television drama series Any Day Now (1998-2002).

In 2009, she made her Broadway debut upon joining the cast of the Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage.

In late 2013, it was announced that Potts would join Diane Paulus' critically acclaimed revival of Pippin. This marked her first appearance in a Broadway musical.

Trivia: Original choice for Alex Forrest in Fatal Attraction (1987), but dropped out to star in the TV series Designing Women (1986).

She is a board member of Stephens College, and has been instrumental in fundraising efforts for the college for many years.

Where Are They Now: Potts is always working. Besides working on the hit series 'Young Sheldon' and her voicework as Bo Peep in Toy Story 4 in 2019, Potts will reprise her role as Janine Melnitz for Ghostbusters 2020 or Ghostbusters 3 (whatever it's going to be titled), which is currently filming. I can't wait!
