Review: When trucker Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) comes to San Franciso's Chinatown all hell breaks loose! Jack helps his friend Wang (Dennis Dun) rescue his fiancee from the clutches of an ancient sorcerer (James Hong). Together, with the help of a ragtag group of allies, Jack and Wang battle gangs, martial arts warriors, monsters, the supernatural, and the darkest magic in one of the most thoroughly entertaining movies from the '80s. John Carpenter is a genius filmmaker, and musician, and "Big Trouble in Little China" is the unequivocal proof. I love this movie! It's got everything and the kitchen sink...and it's glorious! Kurt Russell is perfect as the machismo fueled sidekick Jack Burton. Every line he has is quotable. Some of which I use on a daily basis - "Everybody relax, I'm here.", "I know, there's a problem with your face.", "Are you crazy... Is that your problem?", "Tall guy, weird clothes. First you see him, then you don't.", "I'm gonna tell you about an accident, and I don't wanna hear 'act of God'!", "You got a tongue, Dave. Ask her yourself." and "Okay. You people sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we're not back by dawn... call the president." Kurt Russell owns with movie! The supporting cast is just as game as Russell and look to be having as much fun making this crazy movie as we are watching it. Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun, and especially phenomenal character actors James Hong and Victor Wong are all chewing the scenery with tongues firmly in their cheeks. The fight choreography, special effects, creature designs, set design, cinematography, film score, editing, sound design, costumes, script, humor, acting, all go for broke and succeed on created one of the greatest cult classics ever put on film. I can't say enough good things about this movie. "Big Trouble in Little China" is goofy, silly, and most importantly...fun on a level that movies these days wish they could be. I recommend this one to all. Don't take it seriously, just watch and have a great time. "We really shook the pillars of heaven, didn't we, Wang?"

Fun Fact: Kurt Russell suffered a bad case of the flu during the scene just after the brothel, so the sweat on his body is real, caused by the fever.
