Review: When an ancient evil is unleashed in a small Mississippi town, it leaves a trail of death and destruction as it passes from host to host. The only hope of survival lies with a grizzled demon hunter (Dolph Lundgren) who has faced this terror before. With the help of a reluctant FBI agent (Kristina Klebe), he must figure out how to destroy a demon that has the ability to possess its killer.

Don't Kill It comes across as a B-level horror flick starring an action hero of classics past, and while it kind of is, it sure is entertaining. The premise is simple: Don't kill it. Seriously, don't. Or else you become it. The demon that is. One who encounters a demon may be inclined to kill it, but killing it makes you become it, and the vicious cycle goes on and on. Dolph Lundgren stars here as a demon hunter with a southern twang, in a role that is so out of left field for a guy who we remember as Ivan Drago (Rocky IV, Creed II) and Chris Kenner (Showdown in Little Tokyo). It's a pretty comical role for Lundgren, but after a few minutes it's clear that he's embracing it and having fun as ol' Jebediah. Everyone in town thinks he's a crazy kook who's lost his mind, but as demon-induced carnage starts to run rampant, the FBI becomes resigned to the fact that he's the man they need to help contain the beast. What ultimately ensues is a series of wildly entertaining encounters as the entire town tries to battle a demon that they cannot kill, but only contain inside of a flask. You read that right. The end goal here is to get the soul of the demon into a flask.

It truly looks like Dolph Lundgren is enjoying himself in this movie, which is refreshing to see. His character is fun and silly, all while poised to jump into action at a moment's notice. Kristina Klebe is the perfect foil to Lundgren as she plays a straight shooter who gets deeper and deeper into the absurd nature of her case that she eventually just succumbs to the chaos. There's plenty of humor to go around among the blood, guts, and demon attacks. Horror comedy fans will surely enjoy this film for all of its crazy theatrics.

Don't Kill It. Watch it!
