Review: Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown) and her siblings get a big shock when they follow their grandma Aggie (Debbie Reynolds) home to Halloweentown - and find out they come from the powerful Cromwell family of witches. The town is the only place where supernatural beings can lead a normal life, but trouble is looming, and on her 13th birthday Marnie not only finds she is a witch, but that she and her family are involved in a fight against the evil that is threatening to take over the world.

If you're a late 80s/90s kid, chances are you are familiar with Disney Channel Original Movies. These films were a huge part of my childhood, and despite the fact that you could argue that I'm now a full-fledged adult, I still look forward to reliving my early years each Halloween. Let your imagination run wild as you are swept into a town that's inhabited by ghosts, goblins, ghouls, witches, and warlocks. This film is incredibly cheesy, but you can't help but enjoy the world created by this movie. There's also a fair bit of conflict, as the titular Halloween oasis is threatened by evil forces attempting to take over both it and the mortal world. It's easy to see why Halloweentown is thoroughly enjoyed by children everywhere. This film is a quick hour and a half of pure entertainment. Show this family classic to your kids, and perhaps one day they too will look forward to watching this movie each Halloween season!

Fun Fact: Debbie Reynolds' late close friend Agnes Moorehead was called 'Aggie' and also played a magical grandmother on the popular TV series, Bewitched (1964).
