Review: When Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) learn that a "Bluntman and Chronic" movie is being made featuring their comic book counterparts, they drool at the thought of fat movie checks rolling in. But when the pair find that there won't be any royalties coming their way, they set out to sabotage the flick at all costs. On it's surface, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a tasteless, raunchy comedy. But if you can look past that, you'll find a comedy that is actually well-written and quite clever. There are plenty of homages to Star Wars, as well as many other classics such as Scooby Doo and previous Kevin Smith films. Not to mention, there are tons of cameos ranging from Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill to Matt Damon, Jason Biggs, and James van der Beek. This movie cleverly parallels the absurdity of making a movie about these two goofball characters by making a movie about making a movie about these two goofball characters (I swear this sentence makes sense. Watch the trailer!). Jay and Silent Bob hilariously break the fourth wall on a few occasions to help illustrate this ironic plot. If you can look past the foul, potty-mouthed humor, or you're a fan of Kevin Smith, you'll be sure to love this movie!

Fun Fact: This was the first film in which Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill had appeared together since Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983). Apparently, neither of them knew the other was in the film until a few weeks after shooting had been completed.
