Review: When there's something strange on Planet Earth, who you gonna call? The Justice League? Well, no. That's because their collective superpowers are no match for supernatural villains that use the darkest magic. We need to call...Justice League Dark. This team of supernatural heroes features John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing, and Jason Blood (and his demonic alter-ego Etrigan). Batman joins them to save the world from the threat of demons, monsters, mind-control, and the most evil magic imaginable. Like the title says, this movie is "dark" in tone and subject matter; it is Rated R after all. But that won't keep fans of both DC Comics, animation, and superheroes from enjoying it. It's like a very macabre, scary, violent version of Harry Potter. Lots of magic, spectacle, action, strange visuals, odd characters, and more, that add up into a unique world that I wouldn't mind visiting from time to time for a entertaining tale or two.
Fun Fact: First DC Universe animated film to feature the character of Swamp Thing.
