Review: After successfully robbing five casinos in one night, Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and his crew of thieves have big problems. Despite pulling off one of the biggest heists in Las Vegas history, the members of the gang have already spent much of the money they stole. Casino owner Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia) demands that Ocean return the money, plus millions more in interest. Unable to come up with the cash, the crew is forced to go toe to toe with another famous thief called, The Night Fox (Vincent Cassel). A competition of sorts to pull off another series of heists, this time in Europe.

Where do I begin with Ocean's Twelve? This movie once again benefits from an ensemble cast that has somehow managed to acquire even more talent. With that said, this movie comes across as messy and aimless. While I agree that taking this group of characters outside of a casino for a sequel seemed necessary at the time, I kind of missed that dynamic. My biggest issue with this film was that I seemingly watched an hour and 45 minutes of a film, only to be told that everything I had just watched was a reuse. Then, I had the reality of the entire movie basically explained to me over the course of a few minutes. None of the plot was fleshed out, and the ending seemed rushed. What I enjoyed about Ocean's Eleven was it's ability to elaborately convey its plot while also maintaining a sense of straightforwardness. I understood what was happening, but everything was explained to me in an elaborate, yet exciting way. Ocean's Twelve was hard to follow, muddy, and too accelerated for my taste, despite it's amazing cast and overall sense of fun. I really enjoy this Ocean's trilogy, but of the three principal films, this one is easily my least favorite. If you're someone interested in this trilogy as a sum of its parts, definitely don't skip this one. But beware, as this movie is generally considered the worst of the three films. It won't live up to Ocean's Eleven, but if you keep going, you'll be pleasantly surprised by Ocean's Thirteen.

Fun Fact: The Night Fox's mansion is on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. The name of the city overlooking Lake Como is Bellagio. The city and the lake were the inspiration for the design of the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas, site of the heist in Ocean's Eleven (2001).
