Review: When Robin (Kevin Costner) returns home to England he learns that the tyrannical Sheriff of Nottingham has murdered his father, Lord Locksley and begun to spread fear across the land. Robin Hood vows vengeance and becomes an outlaw to fight to restore King Richard to the throne. 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' was one of the biggest hits in the summer of 1991. I've always had a big soft spot for this movie. The action is great! The music is great! And Alan Rickman is just awesome! He is the best thing in this movie and I wish his Sheriff of Nottingham had his own movie. That's how good he is. If you get a chance to watch the Extended Version they add more of his character to the mix. 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' is the type of epic adventure movie that doesn't get made anymore. It's thrilling, action-packed and leaves you with that thoroughly-entertained feeling that all movies like this should. Kevin Costner's accent is questionable and should deduct some points for this film, but I'll allow it.

Stars (out of 4):

Fun Fact: Alan Rickman turned down the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham twice before he was told he could more or less have carte blanche with his interpretation of the character.
