Review: When a zombie virus breaks out in South Korea, passengers, including a father and daughter (Yoo Gong and Su-an Kim), struggle to survive on the train from Seoul to Busan. These days it seems that zombie movies are dime-a-dozen. However, Train to Busan takes its time to establish its characters and their relationships so that when the chaos begins we are invested in the story and root for our band of survivors trying to outrun the zombie horde. It is a subtitled movie, although the DVD does include a dubbed in English version of the film. I prefer the subtitles, it helps to keep the tone of the movie and emotions of the characters as the filmmakers intended. It definitely had me on the edge of my seat. The actors are great, especially Su-an Kim as the young daughter. She's really the heart of the movie. The action is thrilling, the zombie attacks are scary, and the story really has you wondering who's going to make it to Busan alive and well. A well written, well made movie that surprised me. A must-see for zombie fans!
