Claim To Fame: Gordon is well-known for his roles in films inclduing All That Jazz, Christine, and The Legend of Billie Jean.

Family Life: He has been married to Rachel Griffin since 1998.

Info: Gordon was inspired to become an actor at the age of 12 after seeing James Earl Jones in a Broadway production of Of Mice and Men. Gordon's first role was that of class clown Doug in the 1978 sequel film Jaws 2.

He followed this with roles in All That Jazz, the 1980 erotic thriller Dressed to Kill, the 1983 horror film Christine, the 1985 cult film The Legend of Billie Jean, the 1986 Mark Romanek classic Static (for which he wrote the screenplay), and the 1986 comedy movie Back to School, as Jason Melon.

Trivia: Grew up in an athiest Jewish family.

Son of New York actors Mark & Barbara Gordon.

Was named number 1 in Cinematicals' Top 7 Most Convincing Nerds.

Where Are They Now: Gordon made a career move from acting into directing with his 1988 directorial debut of The Chocolate War, based on a book about a student who rebels against the rigid hierarchies in his Catholic school.

He also directed the 1992 anti-war film A Midnight Clear, as well as Mother Night (adapted from the novel by Kurt Vonnegut), Waking the Dead, and the 2003 Robert Downey Jr. film The Singing Detective.

Some of his more recent projects have included the mini-series Wild Palms and credits for television including Homicide: Life on the Street, Gideon's Crossing, Dexter and House. Most recently, he directed two episodes of the TV series The Killing.
