Review: Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. Approached by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy. Ant-Man and the Wasp is a refreshing entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the sense that it's a superhero film where you don't become as heavily invested in the magnitude of what's at stake. And I mean that in good way. Marvel Studios has done a fantastic job of injecting humor and fun into its movies, but Ant-Man and the Wasp comes across as even more light-hearted than many of the MCU's earlier installments. Whereas Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor are off battling forces where one false move cold destroy the universe, Ant-Man rides around on ants and plays Rock Band in his free time. The film is fun, witty, heartwarming, and really benefits from its star-studded cast. It may not stand out among some of the other gargantuan movies released by the MCU, but I would be hard-pressed to find anyone who could watch this movie and not smile and laugh as our group of lovable characters take us on their epic, action-packed journey. I think this type of film was the perfect successor to the dramatic Avengers: Infinity War film last released by Marvel Studios, and a must watch for all fans of superhero and comedy flicks!

Fun Fact: For the role of Janet van Dyne, Evangeline Lilly (Janet's daughter, Hope) had Michelle Pfeiffer on her wish list to play Janet, and Michael Douglas (Janet's husband, Hank) had expressed the desire to have his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones play Janet.
