Review: 'Road to Perdition' is based on the graphic novel from Max Allan Collins and Richard Piers Rayner. It's the story of a son (Tyler Hoechlin) who discovers his father (Tom Hanks) earns his living as a hitman. Within that premise it's a coming-of-age story and focuses on the relationships between fathers and sons. The all-star cast (Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Daniel Craig, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jude Law) fills the screen with dramatic tension, rousing action, and humanity. Paul Newman is especially good in his role as mobster John Rooney.
