Review: A plague turns all of humanity into the living dead, and it's up to the last man on earth (Vincent Price) to find a cure and rid the world of these vampiric ghouls. Based on Richard Matheson's book 'I Am Legend', 'The Last Man on Earth' is one creepy, scary movie, and a precursor to George A. Romero's 'Night of the Living Dead' (1968). Vincent Price's performance is pitch perfect as the title character. His desperation and descent into madness really makes you care for him, and you truly feel the isolation that such a situation would produce. It has been remade a few times,The Omega Man (1971) and I Am Legend (2007), which shows you just how impactful the book and movie have been over the years. One of Vincent Price's best!
Fun Fact: The script was written in part by Richard Matheson, but he was dissatisfied with the result and was therefore credited as Logan Swanson.
