Review: 'The Tomb of Ligeia' is the last of Roger Corman's "Poe" series of films. Here he re-teams with Vincent Price to tell the horrifying tale of a man's obsession with his dead wife that puts an unusual strain on the relationship between him and his new bride (Elizabeth Shepherd). These Gothic horror tales are what made Roger Corman and Vincent Price legendary icons of the screen. The atmosphere, the sets, the lighting, the music, and the presence and performance of Price make this film seem haunting. Classic horror fans will get caught up in the story, written by future Oscar winner Robert Towne (Chinatown), as well as the chilling climax.
